About The Website

"They did not foresee what in fact has happened, above all in our Western capitalist democracies -- the development of a vast mass communications industry, concerned in the main neither with the true nor the false, but with the unreal, the more or less totally irrelevant. In a word, they failed to take into account man's almost infinite appetite for distractions"
- Aldous Huxley, Brave New World Revisited

Unfortunately, this blog will often forget Huxley's aforementioned warning. It'll be full of distractions which are hopefully funny, poignant and not too long ones (Yey!) with some Christianity-focused and thought-provoking posts (oh groan, if you consider it a distraction..).

As an open-minded and orthodox reformed Christian, I believe even with and amidst our "almost infinite appetite for distractions" (including from this blog), we can still attempt to analyse and scrutinise the "more or less totally irrelevant" information without falling into Huxley's prophecy/warning. We may even, through all the good or bad distractions, find what is truth, relevant, or just what's cool and pure fun.

So why is this blog relevant, vital, even useful for our (lack of?) discernment? Why do I even need to make one? Well, firstly, I thought Google+ would add links to my posts (instead of blogger) so I can come back to the articles or pictures I posted up, instead of scrolling all the way down :s. Things I may feel like sharing with family or friends now or in the future. Secondly and more importantly, we are in a world full of...ah, look, a funny video on youtube.
